WELCOME EVERYONE: Fall 2025 Somerset FC Soccer Season!

Dear Parents, Coaches, Referees, and all Volunteers,

I hope you all had a wonderful summer with your family and are enjoying the new school year.  My name is Arturo Castro, and I am the Director of Somerset FC. I am excited to start this journey with all of you and hope that we have a wonderful season.  I look forward to working with your children and help them develop their soccer skills, teamwork and sportsmanship. 

Our Goals for the Season:

• Fun: To ensure every player enjoys playing soccer and being a part of a team.
• Development: To focus on individual skill develpment and a deeper understanding of the game.
• Sportsmanship: To foster respect for the game, officials, and other teams.

Key Dates and Schedule: 

• Practices: You should be hearing from your coaches sometime this week to let you know what day the first practice is for your team next week. All Practices will be at the Somerset City Park (7360 E 6th St, Somerset, TX 78069)
• Games Begin: 20 September 2025
• Game Schedule: You should recieve a game schedule sometime this week. We only have 2 divisions this season U8 and U12 (U10 and U12) were combined.

What Your Player Needs:

• Mandatory: Shin Guards and Soccer Cleats (No Metal Cleats)
• Recommended: A Ball (U8 Size 4) (U10-U12 Size 5) and Water Bottle for every practice and game
• Uniforms: Jerseys, Shorts and Socks will be provided before the first game.

Player and Parent Expectations:

• Punctuality: Though this is an volunteer league, please be mindful of your coaches time and try to make it to practice and games prior to start so that we are ready to play on time.
• Communication: If your child cannot attend a practice or a game please inform your coaches (Use TeamSnap App).
• Sideline Conduct: We encourage positive cheering from the sidelines, but please refrain from any negative comments towards any children, coaches or referees. 

How We Will Communicate:

• Primary Method: All communication shall be through the TeamSnap App.  Everyone should already be on a team and should be able to communicate with your coaches.  If you need to communicate with the Director or Board please email the Club Email: footballclubsomerset@gmail.com 

Volunteers Welcome: Volunteers are always welcome to assist coaches as Team Managers, Coaches or Board Members to assist with tasks for this and future seasons.
